Aging Scale for Elder Races

(City Elves, Demons, Dragoons, Gnomes, Kitsune, Wylraen)

  • baby -- 0-5 years: Relatively helpless, though they can probably learn to crawl and make noises and maybe even occasional words after a year or so?
  • toddler -- 5-20 years: Talking, walking, playing games, etc. They might look like young children slightly past toddler age sometimes here, and maybe even talk relatively normally, but their emotional/psychological maturity is that of a toddler, and culturally they're treated as such.
  • schooling/training age -- 20-150 (puberty at 110): Few to none of the longer-lived individuals start an apprenticeship before 30 years of age, unless it's an apprenticeship that doesn't involve reading and writing. Basic general schooling happens from 20 to 30. Their apprenticeships last longer as well, because their learning curve is a lot different. Like children, they're easily distracted and have short attention spans; once they hit puberty at 110, hormones kick in and they behave like any moody adolescent. Apprenticeship usually ends around 115-125, less for more focused individuals, more for the more delinquint types. Most will remain journeymen or journeywoman for the next 25 years at /least/, but probably longer.
  • adult -- 150 years: The individual is an adult in the eyes of his culture, and more or less the equivalent of a human adult physically and psychologically (though of course there are exceptions on the psychological end). Some time around here, the individual probably reaches master rank in his guild.
  • adult wylraen -- 200 years: This is when wylraen stop aging. They're considered adults at this point. Demons and kitsune often use this age as a mark of adulthood.
  • middle aged -- 500 years
  • old -- 800 years
  • venerable -- 900 years
  • max age (except wylraen/demons) -- 1000 years

Aging Scale for Two Century Races

(Amaane, Centaurs, Kenders, Nagham, Trolls)

The species with a maximum lifespan of 200 years are generally treated as a 2:1 ratio of age compared to one century species like humans.

However, centaurs are a special case because they physically develop quickly during the first years of their life (their human half must keep up with their horse half; their human half resembles a toddler when first born), but their mental age is the same as other two century species.
